Arts > Drama

During the 2010 – 2011 school year, the RCS Drama Department presented three productions at the Rejoice High School Campus. The season began with a production of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” on December 9th and 10th. The season continued on February 24th and 25th with a dinner theater production of “The Importance of Being Earnest”, and ended with the the Broadway classic,”The Music Man” on April 31st and May 1st. The RCS Drama Department also took the stage during the annual “Night with the Arts” an event highlighting student achievement in the area of fine arts.
Drama is a fantastic way for students to learn skills they will use the rest of their lives. Students learn and practice skills like teamwork, memorization, and public speaking. I have seen many students discover talents they never knew they had. I have watched as shy students “steal the scene” in the final performance as they blossom and gain confidence through drama. Everyone needs a place to shine and for some students drama is the perfect avenue. Drama students form lasting friendships and gain respect for one another as they learn to appreciate their differences.
