Language – This week, we are wrapping up language with a final opportunity to show off your BEST writing skills! We can’t wait to see what you will come up with for this week’s creative writing.

1. For the assignment, print out the creative writing activity called, “The Famous Squirrel Photographer”. (Students may use notebook paper to complete this assignment, if needed. Be sure to use your BEST effort on this assignment, your BEST sentence structure, and include a solid beginning, middle, and end to your story. Also, make sure to include ADVERBS and ADJECTIVES to make your story more interesting.

History – To finish history for the year, you are going to learn about an amazing preacher named Billy Sunday. 

1. In your history book, carefully read about Billy Sunday on pages 337-346.

Science – This week, we are going to finish science by focusing on staying healthy and taking care of our bodies.

Science – We are going to begin chapter 11 over the stars and constellations this week.

2. In your science book, read lesson 11.1 “Astronomy” on pages 163-164. Complete the assignment on the bottom of page 164.

3. In your science book, read lesson 11.2 “Asteroids, Comets, Meteors” on pages 165-166. Complete the assignment on the bottom of page 166. 

4. Lastly, in your science book, read lesson 11.3 “Stars” on pages 167-168. Complete the assignment on the bottom of page 168.

Language – This week students learn about contractions and how to use them correctly.

  1. Go to http://www.noredink.com and click on “login”.

  2. Enter the login name and password you previously created.

  3. There are two assignments on your account to complete this week. The first one is titled, “What do you know about contractions?”. This is a regular assignment grade. However, it will show you what you already know about contractions and what you are still learning. 

  4. The second assignment is titled, “Contractions Grammar Assignment”. 

  5. When you are finished with these assignments, submit them both online. Then log out of your account.

 

Science – We are going to officially start our study of the solar system this week. Woohoo!!!

You may not understand all the fancy numbers and big words, but you will definitely LOVE this video and it will get you excited about the amazing universe God has created!   1. In your science book, read lesson 10.1 “Space Exploration” on pages 147-148. Complete the assignment on the bottom of page 148. (For some students, this page may already be completed. You still need to have your parent take a picture so you can receive credit.)

  2. In your science book, read lesson 10.2 “The Sun and the Solar System” on pages 149-150. Complete the assignment on the bottom of page 150. (For some students, this page may already be completed. You still need to have your parent take a picture so you can receive credit.)

  3. Email a picture of completed pages 148 and 150 to the classroom teacher by Sunday, April 12th (10:00pm).

 

History – You are going to learn about an amazing woman named Emily Roebling this week. 

  1. In your history book, read about Emily Roebling on pages 286-293. 

  2. Complete the “Comprehension Check” assignment on page 294 for a grade. 

  3. Email a picture of completed page 294 to the classroom teacher by Sunday, April 12th (10:00pm).
