If at all possible, please submit all assignments at ONE time or BY subjects in an email to your student’s homeroom teacher by this week’s deadline, Sunday, April 12th at 10pm.
 

Math – This week we are learning 2 digit by 1 digit multiplication as well as the basics of division. For some classes, this will be a review. Use this as an opportunity to sharpen your math skills. 

  1. Watch this Khan Academy video about multiplying 2-digit numbers by a 1-digit number. This is the lesson for “Math Assignment 1” this week. https://www.khanacademy.org/video/2-digit-times-1-digit-example-no-carrying

  2. Students should open and print out a copy of “Math Assignment 1”. (Students may use notebook paper to copy and complete the assignment, if needed.)

  3. Watch this Khan Academy video to understand how to multiply 2-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers with regrouping (carrying numbers). This is the lesson for “Math Assignment 2” this week.

  4. Students should open and print out a copy of “Math Assignment 2”. (Students may use notebook paper to copy and complete the assignment, if needed.)

  5. Complete BOTH assignments and email a picture of the finished work to the classroom teacher by Sunday, April 12th (10:00pm).

 

Reading – Students will read chapters 12-15 of Pilgrim’s Progress this week. The classroom teacher will contact the class for discussion of these chapters throughout the week. 

  1. Chapters 12-15 are individually uploaded to the Rejoicing at Home link for our grade-level. 

  2. To understand this week’s vocabulary, students will need to print out and complete the “Pilgrim’s Progress Vocabulary Activity” for chapters 12-15. If no printer is available, students may re-create and complete the assignment using notebook paper. 

  3. Students should carefully read (and then re-read) chapters 12-13.

  4. From the Rejoicing at Home site, students print out (or rewrite on notebook paper) “Pilgrim’s Progress: Chapters 12-13 Questions” and answer each question completely.  To practice cursive, write your answers in CURSIVE. Woohoo!!!

  5. Students should carefully read (and then re-read) chapters 14-15.

  6. From the Rejoicing at Home site, students print out (or rewrite on notebook paper) “Pilgrim’s Progress: Chapters 14-15 Questions” and answer each question completely.  To practice cursive, write your answers in CURSIVE. Woohoo!!!

Language – This week students learn about contractions and how to use them correctly.

  1. Go to http://www.noredink.com and click on “login”.

  2. Enter the login name and password you previously created.

  3. There are two assignments on your account to complete this week. The first one is titled, “What do you know about contractions?”. This is a regular assignment grade. However, it will show you what you already know about contractions and what you are still learning. 

  4. The second assignment is titled, “Contractions Grammar Assignment”. 

  5. When you are finished with these assignments, submit them both online. Then log out of your account.

 

Science – We are going to officially start our study of the solar system this week. Woohoo!!!

You may not understand all the fancy numbers and big words, but you will definitely LOVE this video and it will get you excited about the amazing universe God has created!   1. In your science book, read lesson 10.1 “Space Exploration” on pages 147-148. Complete the assignment on the bottom of page 148. (For some students, this page may already be completed. You still need to have your parent take a picture so you can receive credit.)

  2. In your science book, read lesson 10.2 “The Sun and the Solar System” on pages 149-150. Complete the assignment on the bottom of page 150. (For some students, this page may already be completed. You still need to have your parent take a picture so you can receive credit.)

  3. Email a picture of completed pages 148 and 150 to the classroom teacher by Sunday, April 12th (10:00pm).

 

History – You are going to learn about an amazing woman named Emily Roebling this week. 

  1. In your history book, read about Emily Roebling on pages 286-293. 

  2. Complete the “Comprehension Check” assignment on page 294 for a grade. 

  3. Email a picture of completed page 294 to the classroom teacher by Sunday, April 12th (10:00pm).

Math – We will review our most recent concepts with a benchmark review. Students will use the benchmark assignment that is uploaded to the site for this task. 

  1. Students should open the “Benchmark 4” assignment from the Rejoicing@Home link to VIEW.

  2. Students should open and print out a copy of the “Student Answer Form”.

  3. Complete all work for this task on the “Student Answer Form” and return to the classroom teacher by April 6th.

 

Reading – Students will review Ch.10-11 of Pilgrim’s Progress that we covered before spring break. 

  1. Chapters 8-11 are individually uploaded to the Rejoicing@Home link for our grade-level. 

  2. Students should re-read each chapter, as needed.

  3. From the Rejoicing@Home site, students should print out the assignment page titled, “Pilgrim’s Progress: Chapters 10-11 Review” to answer the questions.

  4. Complete these questions on the assignment page and return the paper to the classroom teacher by April 6th.

 

Language – This week students will focus on using correct sentence structure, grammar, and context while responding to the given writing prompt. (150 response minimum)

  1. Go to https://www.noredink.com/login and click on “login”.

  2. Enter the login name and password you created last week.

  3. There are two assignments on your account to complete this week. One is over subjects, verbs, and fragments. The other is a review of the two parts of a sentence. 

  4. When you are finished, submit both assignments online.

Science – Students will continue learning about the phases of the moon.

  1. Print out and complete “Phases of the Moon” activity from the Rejoicing@Home link.

  2. Return it to your classroom teacher by April 6th.

 

History – Map Skills

  1. Print out and complete the “Map Skill Review” pages from the Rejoicing@Home link. Return it to your classroom teacher by April 6th.

  2. Enter your name and create a password to join our language classroom.

  3. This week’s assignment will be on your account. It is a review of “subject/verb agreement”.

  4. When you’ve finished the assignment, take the assigned quiz.

 

Science – Kids will learn about the phases of the moon.

  1. Print out and complete “Identifying Phases of the Moon” activity from the Rejoicing@Home link above.

  2. Return it to your classroom teacher by April 6th.
