Hey sweet little buddies! I hope you are all still healthy and doing well. I am writing this Tuesday night, right after that big storm that left a beautiful sky in it’s wake! Mrs. Henson, our Rejoice Elementary School Art teacher, is one of my best friends, and I am lucky enough to live right across the street from her. How cool is that!?!? After the storm, she texted me to come outside with her and look at the beautiful sky God painted. I hope you got to see it, too. He truly is the greatest artist, and you, sweet kiddos, are his masterpiece. I miss you bunches, and I love you lots!
This week, let’s have some wacky fun! Let’s play dress up. You can be as silly or as sophisticated as you want to be. You can be fancy or comfy or anywhere in between!! Using our following clothing item words, either dress up your favorite doll/stuffed animal, or you can play dress up yourself. Have a parent say the word in Spanish, and you try to remember what clothing item it is. When you think you have the right item, put it on. At the end, do a fashion show! Have a blast with it; learning is so much more fun when we learn through play!
Clothing items:
camisa-shirt calcetines-socks
pantalones-pants zapatos-shoes
vestido-dress gorro-hat (like a ball cap)

Hey sweet, sweet friends! Another week has passed, and I haven’t seen your smiling faces or wrapped you in big hugs. Oh, how I miss seeing my little buddies! I hope you are having a good time learning at home, and I pray you are all staying healthy!
This week, let’s review some of our food words! I have attached the food worksheet we covered earlier this year. Have your mom or dad quiz you to see how much you remember!! Remember “el pollo loco,” our crazy chicken with his yo-yo?!?! If you would like to, color your food worksheet. Then, with a parent, cut out the foods you like and fill your plate using either a real paper plate or the plate worksheet I have attached.
Then, snuggle up with a soft blanket and take a virtual fieldtrip through the Amazon rainforest

Balloon Fun
Have an adult blow up a balloon and count how many times you can hit it, using only one body part, before it touches the ground. If you don’t have any balloons at home, you can use a gallon baggie filled with air.
Throwing and Catching Practice
Get a ball and go outside with an adult. (If you don’t have a ball, a rolled-up sock works too.) Count how many times you can throw a ball up and catch it without dropping it. Try again and see if you can do better each time. What was your highest number? __________

Hey sweet littles! Well, it’s been another week, and I sure am missing your hugs, high fives, smiles, and jokes. I pray you are all staying safe and healthy, and I look forward to seeing you again soon!
We are going to continue using the Calico Spanish curriculum we have been using the past 2 weeks. As always, please do not feel pressured to do these lessons! My goal is to enhance your learning from home experience, not add to an already overflowing plate. There are lots of fun videos, songs, and learning materials at www.calico.com. I have also included the link to the pdf files where you can print flashcards, worksheets, and dialogues. For the week of 4/20/20-4/24/20, let’s explore Day 3 videos and activities!
Remember our face song? I thought it might be fun to teach it to your parents! If you have a pet, point to the parts of the face on your pet. Or grab your favorite teddy bear to join in the fun!
The song is sung to the tune of “This Old Man.”
Ojos- eyes

Hi sweet babies! I sure miss your hugs, high fives, fist bumps, silly faces, dances, and any other fun way you have greeted me throughout this school year. When this is all over, and I fully trust that it WILL be over soon, I can’t wait to see all of you again! Until then, let’s have some fun learning in a new way!
Calico Spanish is a curriculum I purchased earlier this year, but I never got the chance to fully implement in the classroom. It is great, because it can be used for multiple grade levels! They are now offering their printable pdf, as well as other learning materials, to students and families as we all adapt to schooling at home together during this crazy time. Please do not feel pressured to do these lessons, but there are lots of fun videos, songs, and learning materials at www.calico.com. I have also included the link to the pdf files where you can print flashcards, worksheets, and dialogues. For the week of 4/6/20-4/10/20, let’s explore Day 1 videos and activities!

Hey my sweet littles! WE MADE IT!! I am so proud of all of you. I know there is so much you don’t understand right now, and I know it’s been hard, but you did it!! God is going to do great things through you, and I am so thankful that I get to watch it all unfold. This week is a bit different. If we were in my class, I would be doing a movie day or party day to celebrate with you one last time. Well, since I can’t do that, I have made some videos of me reading our favorite books we have enjoyed over the year. So, grab a blankie and a stuffie, cuddle up with Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, or whoever is taking care of you right now, and enjoy some of our favorite silly stories. I love you guys, and I can’t wait to see you when it is safe to do so!
